If you can't catch Osama Bomb Iraq (2X)
If you can't catch Osama
Send in the great big bombmas
If you can't catch Osama Bomb Iraq

If you can't catch Osama...
Bomb Iraqui mammas...

If the stock market's tanking..
Send some yanks and tanks a'clanking...

If you're running out of oil...
Send our boys to foreign soil...

If your running out of gas...
And your want to kick some ass..

The generals all wanta...
Try their missils guns and bommas...

The stock marker's falling...
The economy's apalling...

Help the rich getting richer...
Poor aren't even in the pictures...

(Another adaptation)

If you cannot find Osama, bomb Iraq.
If the markets are a drama, bomb Iraq.
If the terrorists are Saudi,
And your alibi is shoddy,
And your tastes remain quite gaudy,
Bomb Iraq.

If corporate fraud is growin', bomb Iraq.
If your ties to it are showin', bomb Iraq.
If your politics are sleazy,
And hiding that ain't easy,
And your manhood's getting queasy,
Bomb Iraq.

If we have no allies with us, bomb Iraq.
If we think that someone's dissed us, bomb Iraq.
So to hell with the inspections,
Let's look tough for the elections,
Close your mind and take directions,
Bomb Iraq.

If the globe is quickly warming, bomb Iraq.
If the poor will soon be storming, bomb Iraq.
If the ozone hole is growing,
We'll pretend that we're not knowing,
Though our ignorance is showing,
Bomb Iraq.

If you never were elected, bomb Iraq.
If your ideas are rejected, bomb Iraq.
If you think that SUVs,
Are the best thing since sliced cheese,
And your father you must please,
Bomb Iraq.

Fall in line and follow orders, bomb Iraq.
For our might now knows no borders, bomb Iraq.
Disagree? We'll call it treason,
It's the make war not love season,
Even if we have no reason,
Bomb Iraq.
(..and more 1/27/03)

If we think that someone's dissed us, bomb Iraq.
So to hell with the inspections,
Let's look tough for the elections,
Close your mind and take directions,
Bomb Iraq.

It's pre-emptive non-aggression, bomb Iraq.
To prevent this mass destruction, bomb Iraq.
They've got weapons we can't see,
And that's all the proof we need,
If they're not there, they must be there,
Bomb Iraq. return to top

FIXIN' TO DIE - IRAQ
w. Anon; m. Country Joe McDonald
Come on all of you big strong men,
The Carlyle Group needs your help again.
They's got themselves in a terrible jam
Way over there in OIL LAND
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun.

And it's one, two, three, What are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop will be SADDAM!
And it's five, six, seven; open up the pearly gates.
Well, there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on generals, let's move fast;
Your big chance has come at last.
Listen now to what Cheney said,
The only good Arab is the one that's dead.
You know that peace can only be won
When we've blown 'em all to kingdom come.

And, come on Wall Street, don't be shy,
This OIL war's the thing to BUY.
There's plenty good money to be made
Supplyin' the Army with the tools of the trade.
Just hope and pray if they drop the bomb,
The market shorts before we're gone.

Come on mothers throughout the land,
Pack off your kids to kill Saddam.
Come on fathers, don't hesitate,
Send 'em off before it's too late.
Be the first one on your block
To have your kid come home in a box.

Now when you are the son of a king
You can hide from the war once again
Just like George during Vietnam,
Protecting Texas from the Vietcong.
So don't you fret that HE never went;
‘Cuz, the rich they never get sent!

JUST MY HANDS..
w. Alex Comfort, m. Pete Seeger
Just my hand's can't tear a prison down
Just your hands can tear a prison down
But if 2 & 2 & 50 make a million
We'll see that day come ‘round (2X)
..strength can't ban the atom bomb..
..strength can't break the color bar..
..feet can't walk around this land....
..hands can't build a bridge of peace..
..heart can't turn the world to love..
..eyes can't see the road ahead...

DIE GEDANKEN SIND FREI
(MY THOUGHTS ARE FREE)
w&m, Traditional; Eng. w. Arthur Kevess
Die Gendanken sind frei,
my thoughts freely flower
Die Gendanken sind frei,
my thoughts give me power
No scholar can map them,
no hunter can trap them
No one can deny, die gendanken sind frei

I think as I please & this gives me pleasure
My conscience degrees,
this right I must treasure
My thoughts will not cater to duke or dictator
No one can deny, die gendanken sing frei

And should tyrants take me &
throw me in prison
My thoughts will burst free
like blossoms in season
Foundations will crumbmle
And structures will tumble
And free folk will cry
"Die Gendanken sind frei" return to top

IF I HAD A HAMMER
w&m: Lee Hays and Pete Seeger
If I had a hammer
I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening
All over this land
I'd hammer out danger
I'd hammer out a warning
I'd hammer out love between
My brother and my sisters
All over this land.

Bell...ring
Song....sing

Well I got a hammer
And I got a bell
And I got song to sing
All over this land
It's the hammer of justice
The bell of freedom
It's a song love between
My bothers & sisters
All, all over this land. return to top

HYMN FOR ALL NATIONS
m: Ode to Joy; w. Josephine Bacon, 3rd v. Don West.

Brother, sister, sing your anthem
Shout your land's undying fame
Light the wondrous tale of nations
With your people's golden name
Tell your parent's noble story
Raise on high your county's sign
Join, then, in a final glory
People lift you flag with mine!

Hail the sun of peace, new rising
Hold the war clouds closer furled
Blend our banners, o my people
In the rainbow of the world
Red a blood and blue as heaven
Wise with age & proud of youth
Melt our colors, wonder woven
In the great bright light of truth.

Build the road of peace before us
Build it wide & deep & long
Speed the slow & check the eager
Help the weak & curb the strong
None shall push aside another
None shall let another fall
March beside me, o my comrades
All for one & one for all. return to top

SOMOS EL BARCO
Words/Tune: Lorre Wyatt
The stream sings it to the river,
The river sings it to the sea,
The sea sings it to the boat
That carries you and me.
Somos el barco, somos el mar.
Yo navego en ti, tu navegas en me.
We are the boat, we are the sea.
I sail in you. You sail in me.

Now the boat we are sailing in
Was built by many hands.
And the sea we are sailing on,
It touches many sands.

O the voyage has been long and hard
And yet we're sailing still
With a song to help us pull together
If we only will.

So with our hopes we raise the sails
To face the winds once more
And with our hearts we chart new waters
Never sailed before. return to top

LET IT BE
Words/tune: Paul McCartney & John Lennon
When I find myself in times of trouble,
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom - let it be.
And in my hour of darkness,
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom - let it be.

Let it be (X4)
Speaking words of wisdom, let it..

And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let..
For though they may be parted
There is still a chance that they will see...
There will be....

And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me -
Shining until tomorrow - let...
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom...
Let it be (X4)..whisper words.. return to top

CARRY IT ON by: Gill Turner
There's are ghosts by my side walking
Martin, John and Gandhi talking.
Their words still need a-saying:
Carry it on; carry it on.
Carry it on; carry it on.
For the dream never ending
You can hear the voices blending.
Loud & clear, their echoes sending...
If you can't go on any longer,
Take the hand of your sister & brother.
Every victory brings another...
Through the air this song is winging.
Down the years, hope keeps springing.
No more tears; we'll keep singing -
Carry... return to top
BALLAD OF GEORGE BUSH
w. Bob Fitch & Babs LIndsay
m. The Boxer by Simon & Garfunkel.
I am a politician Georgie Bush is my name.
I built my reputation spouting
patriotic slogans for my daddy's friends.
All lies at best!
I hear just what I want to hear and disregard the rest
I lie, lie, lie....

(conventional chorus)
I lie, lie, lie....

I was the Texas Governor tight fisted & austere
I lowered teachers salaries.
It helped to keep them overworked and underpaid
O Golly gee!
Some one had to it; it might as well be me.
I lie, lie, lie....

I soon became the President, although I lacked the votes.
My brother used some dirty tricks
manipulating voter rights in Florida
So what's a chad!
So very in-sig-ni-fi-cant, why should it make you mad

Compassionate conservative's my motto & my creed
Although I cut back welfare
and safety nets for families in poverty
So what's the deal?
I'm cutting taxes for the rich and that has more appeal

I promise you security from terrorists and fags
And all those awful sinful folk
who are not white or wealthy or obedient
Sure - there's a price.
Your taxes and your privacy and your civil rights

I never was a soldier, but I sure love that fight
Iraq you know is far away
And I am safe while other folk are bombing it
To kingdom come!
With jets and tank2s & rockets tipped
With spent uranium
They die die die...they die, die, die, die, die, die...

Sing reglar chorus one last time: I lie, lie, lie...

BUSH, THE KENNEBUNKPORT HILLBILLY
w. Rae Newman" dancingriver@hotmail.com
m. The Beverly Hillbillies Theme Song)

Come and listen to my story 'bout a boy name Bush.
His IQ was zero and his head was up his tush.
He drank like a fish while he drove all about.
But that didn't matter 'cuz his daddy bailed him out.
DUI, that is. Criminal record. Cover-up.

Well, the first thing you know little Georgie goes to Yale.
He can't spell his name but they never let him fail.
He spends all his time hangin' out with student folk.
And that's when he learns how to snort a line of coke.
Blow, that is. White gold. Nose candy.

The next thing you know there's a war in Vietnam.
Kin folks say, "George, stay at home with Mom."
Let the common people get maimed and scarred.
We'll buy you a spot in the Texas Air Guard.
Cushy, that is. Country clubs. Nose candy.

Twenty years later George gets a little bored.
He trades in the booze, says that Jesus is his Lord.
He said, "Now the White House is the place I wanna be."
So he called his daddy's friends and they called the GOP.
Gun owners, that is. Falwell. Jesse Helms.

Come November 7, the election ran late.
Kin folks said "Jeb, give the boy your state!"
" Don't let those colored folks get into the polls."
So they put up barricades so they couldn't punch their holes.
Chads, that is. Duval County. Miami-Dade.

Before the votes were counted five Supremes stepped in.
Told all the voters "Hey, we want George to win."
" Stop counting votes!" was their solemn invocation.
And that's how George finally got his coronation.
Rigged, that is. Illegitimate. No moral authority.

Y'all come vote now. Ya hear?
